Stone Zoo Part 2

For some reason the previous post wouldn't let me post, so here goes try TWO......

Stone Zoo Part 1

Saturday we ventured off to the Stone Zoo for a birthday party for a classmate of Isabella's. It was the first of the hot days we have had lately, but a good time was had by all. It was nice to get out as a family and enjoy some sunshine. The kids had a blast at the party and zoo and I must say Isabella had one mean swing at the pinata !!! Watch out !!! Jaxson loved his freedom (we didn't bring the stroller) so he was a man on a mission !!!

Germination

Wow, less than a week and the seeds have sprouted !!! Now that's good germination. We have 4 pumpkins and lots of zinnia's. The marigolds didn't seem to fair as well, but there are a couple. Isabella was excited to see they actually came up. Not bad for $5.00 greenhouse at Wal-Mart !!!

My Little Picasso's

Here we are trying out our new paintbrushes. The paint is in the paintbrushes, ingenious. As you can see both kids got into the painting, very detailed. I should also show you whatelse Jaxson painted on the backporch: the gate, the wood, the backdoor, himself. Good thing it is washable !!

Planting flower seeds

How to keep kids busy on school vacation........ I truely didn't realize that the two hours of pre-school Monday thru Wednesday really does make Isabella tired. She always tells me "school makes me tired." I love school.... because the three days we have been school free she is a different child, WOW !!! Lot of energy and no downtime for Mommy. Well today we went on the back porch to plants some seeds (marigolds and zinnias and a couple of pumpkin seeds) we'll see how they germinate. Well it kept the kids occupied for say, 10 minutes.... Then we painted with these new paintbrushes that have the paint in them made by Elmer's. Pretty good invention, minimizes the mess and clean up at least.

Playing on the Slide...

Enjoying a rest on the lawn

So this is how it went, " Here Jaxson, this chair is for you, and this chair is for me, let's rest." "I'll sit in the princess chair and you sit in the Dora chair, see there's Boots the monkey." She must have pointed out Boots to show that it really wasn't a neon pink "girly" chair. Well the rest lasted as long as it took for the shutter to take this picture and they were off running again.

Outside Time

It was a lovely day today, bright sun, not a cloud in the sky!! So we ventured outside in search of the "kitty kat" and also got to use the little slide Daddy purchased last fall. Perfect size for Jaxson, the slide on the swingset is a little big for solo use.

A Tender Moment with Zoe...

Isabella and her lifelong friend Zoe, they will never part. As some of you might know anything GUND brand is so so soft, well that is who made Zoe. She used to be fluffy, that is actually how Isabella refers to her "fluffy Zoe", but she has seen better days, but Isabella isn't fazed, matted fluff and all.

Our Neighborhood Cat

There is this cat that hangs around our house, I don't know if it belongs to someone or if it is a stray, but it seems pretty healthy. Well anyways the kids have taken a liking to it and everytime we go outside Jaxson says "kitty kat, kitty kat" and out comes the cat.... Even last night as Jaxson was drifting off to sleep he was talking to himself and babbling "kitty kat, kitty kat".

My Amaryllis....

I promise you, I won't bore most of you with my amaryllis for much longer. It has reached its peak and is beginning to go by. I just can't believe how many flowers it got on just two stems.

Patiently Waiting for Spring!!

It had been a nice day and I had been outside with the kids earlier in the day and we had a early dinner and figured since it is light until 7:30 or so we would go outside before bed. Well the sea breeze had picked up and boy was it chilly outside. But once the kids are outside there is no telling them it is too cold, lets go back inside..... A couple of the pictures are better than others, but you get the idea, my kids want spring, we all want spring !!!
